Bus Routes
At Young Women's College Preparatory Academy, we understand how important safe and reliable transportation is for our families. Houston ISD provides bus service for all eligible students those living more than two miles from their zoned school, attending a magnet program like ours, living along a hazardous walking route, or qualifying under McKinney‑Vento. This includes students in regular and special education programs.
To request bus transportation:
-
Submit your request through the school
Contact our campus transportation coordinator—Mrs. Deandria Miller at Dmiller6@houstonisd.org —who will submit a request on your behalf to HISD’s Routing & Scheduling department. Once received, requests are processed within 7–10 business days. -
HISD confirms eligibility & assigns a route
Eligible students will receive an assigned bus stop—typically within two miles of home (or three miles for magnet students)—and route information through email, phone call, and the online “Find My Route” tool. You'll need your child’s student ID. -
Stay informed about ride times
HISD is committed to keeping ride times under 80 minutes for magnet students. Parents will receive automated alerts for late buses and timely updates about routes and changes. -
Report any issues promptly
For concerns like unsafe stops, late buses, lost items, or missed pick-ups, contact the appropriate HISD bus terminal. If you are unsure about your bus terminal, please contact Mrs. Miller for more information.
Transportation is a privilege, and students are required to obey appropriate safety and conduct rules to remain eligible for transportation services. HISD Transportation Services may utilize cameras to record student activity.
